Nursing Finals Week!

Today is the most serious study day of the semester!! The day when every nursing student turns into a junk food eating, coffee drinking, highlighting maniac! Currently, I am in the Adult 1 semester and officially at the halfway point of my nursing education career. Our final is tomorrow morning and I am looking forward to being on vacation from the madness even if its only two weeks. Nursing school definitely has its ups and downs but has proven to be the best decision I have ever made. I have met some incredible people so far who have helped me through some of the hardest times. As most of my fellow colleagues and I have realized, life does not stop for nursing school. I was told in nursing school orientation that the people I sit next to until March 2014 would quickly become family but I never actually understood until January.

 

 

 

Needless to say, we are all more than ready to tan on the beach, party until the wee hours and sleep in until lunchtime. I will be visiting close friends on the other coast this weekend and relaxing the rest of the time. Can't wait!!

Happy Girls Shine Brighter

Hello all!! It has been a long while since I've been on and so much has changed! First off, I am currently single and, although it was a huge change and surprise, I am absolutely loving it. I have never been a single girl and I feel I lack independence so I see this as an opportunity God has given me.

Secondly, I am HALFWAY done with nursing school!!! I couldn't be happier with the experiences and people I've met so far. It has been a stressful blast! As of now, I am working full time at the local hospital as a student nurse tech and enjoying time with my friends and family.

Remembering papa...

Today we laid my papa to rest. It's been a pretty hard week with family flying in, helping to plan a memorial & still taking last minute midterms in nursing school. My grandfather was a feisty man whom I took after an awful lot. I'm glad he went to be with The Lord & is now fighting with my Uncle Tom who passed last month. He was one of the first 13 firefighters in our area & highly respected. I am glad he is resting peacefully. Death is a hard topic for anyone so I didn't know how appropriate it was to blog about it. I think it's just my own way of coping with my loss.
